2 Median Formulas For Single Data In Statistics
The median formula for single data in statistics
there are two formulas to determine the median of a data, The following is the median formula for a single data:
1. The median formula if a lot of data is odd
Me = data location : (n + 1)/2
Information :
Me = Median Value
n = amount of data
Example :
Please determine the median of the data 3,7,6,4,5 !
Answer:
n = 5
The first thing to do is sort the data, so the data becomes 3,4,5,6,7after that set the median :
Me = data location : (n + 1)/2
Me = data location : (5 + 1)/2Me = data location : 6/2Me = data location : 3
So the median of data is in the third location :
first location = 3
second location = 4
third location = 5
fourth location = 6
fifth location = 7
Me = Median location : 3 = third location = 5
So the median of 3, 7, 6, 4, and 5 is 5
2. The median formula if a lot of data is even
Me = ((data location : n/2) + (data location : ((n/2) + 1))2
Information :
Me = Median Value
n = amount of data
Example :
Please determine the median of 1, 2, 4, and 3 !
Answer :
n = 4
first location = 1
second location = 2
third location = 3
fourth location = 4
The first thing to do is sort the data, so the data becomes 1, 2, 3, 4
after that set the median :
Me = ((data location : n/2) + (data location : ((n/2) + 1))) / 2
Me = ((data location : 4/2) + (data location : ((4/2) + 1))) / 2Me = ((data location : 2) + (data location : (2 + 1))) / 2Me = ((data location : 2) + (data location : 3)) / 2Me = (second location + third location) / 2Me = (2 + 3) / 2Me = 5 / 2Me = 2,5
So the median of 1, 2, 3, 4 is 2,5
So just this article which I can share to you.
I apologize if there are wrong word on this article
