Mean Formula For Single Data

In everyday life, the average formula is more widely used, such as calculating the average value of students, we must use the mean formula to calculate the average value.

Mean Formula for Singel Date

Here is a formula for calculating avarage value :

x̄ = ∑x_i / n
x̄ = (x₁ + x₂ + x₃ + ... + x_n)/n

Information :

x̄  = Average Value
x_i = x₁ + x₂ + x₃ + ... + x_n
n = Amount of Data

Example :

Please determine the average value of  6, 4, 8, 10, 11, 10, 7 !

Answer :

x_i = 6 + 4 + 8 + 10 + 11 + 10 + 7

n = 7

x̄ = ∑x_i / n
x̄ = (x₁ + x₂ + x₃ + ... + x_n)/n

x̄ = (6 + 4 + 8 + 10 + 11 + 10 + 7)/7

x̄ = 56 / 7

x̄ = 8

so the average value of 6, 4, 8, 10, 11, 10, 7 is 8
